Looking backward 2025 - 2004

We present the history of Orange Angel's work.
The people and communities touched in 20 years of work.
Starting with fishing boats...and a call to help.

The demand for pet care services in Brazilian cities is increasing enormously. A structured training program offers people on the margins of society productive jobs and even the opportunity to start their own small business.
The Learn and Care Movement aims to unite a community of people committed to pet care and sector professionals to create transformative projects that align with the interests of pets. The goal is to reduce violence and gender inequality by promoting the financial independence of people in vulnerable social situations. Orange Angel has been supporting this initiative and its associated programs in partnership for 5 years.

In addition to our ‘own’ projects, we also supported a number of ANBI organizations active in Nepal that aligned with our objectives. For example, we funded the "Didi Project" of Danielle's Children Fund in Kathmandu. This project focused on the professional training of women in cooking, housekeeping, baking, and hospitality work.

The jewelry is being offered for sale in various outlets in Rio de Janeiro, and the proceeds go entirely to benefit the ladies.

Support for the school of Care 4 SriLanka enabled children to obtain a high quality basic education. School books and supplies as well as school fee assistance.
Over 20 micro-credit loans provided small entrepreneurs required capital to grow their businesses. From eggs to candies and clothing production and sale.
Orange Angel worked closely with the Sampath Foundation in providing micro-credits to small, independent, and motivated entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka, enabling them to generate their own income. The applications were reviewed by the Sampath Foundation for feasibility, and loans ranged from 300 to 500 euros, which had to be repaid within a timeframe of 2 years (or sooner).

Building new homes for tsunami victims
-
Kosgoda

Orange Angel has built a total of 66 houses in and around the town of Kosgoda—about a 2-hour drive south of the capital Colombo—initially for Tsunami victims, and later also for homeless families and slum dwellers. These houses were built for people living in harsh conditions, often in meager huts, sometimes made of cardboard and palm branches, without clean drinking water, without any possessions, and often abandoned by their own population, government, and international aid organizations.
Most of them lived ‘out of sight’, often a few kilometers inland, where no aid organizations go.

Our activities regarding the provision of microcredits remain remarkable. successful. The amount of loans granted translates to the equivalent of 570 euros per person. The current fund has remained intact, and loans are being repaid properly. We had commissioned an external agency to visit the projects once every two years and report to the Foundation.
