OBJECTIVE OF THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation aimed to combat poverty and improve the living conditions of the underprivileged, particularly in Sri Lanka and Nepal, by establishing and/or supporting small-scale, effective projects and training programs aimed at self-reliance.
FOR WHOM?
The Foundation focused primarily on the very poorest, particularly underprivileged women initially in Nepal and Sri Lanka, and later also in Brazil, who find themselves in a vicious cycle of poverty.
OUR POLICY PLAN
WHAT DID WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE?
Improvement of the living conditions of underprivileged women from the lowest social class to enable them to provide for their own livelihood.
OUR WORKING METHOD
Orange Angel strongly believed in the power of collaboration with good, local, and small-scale organizations, combined with the Foundation's own involvement. Orange Angel also helped these organizations make their activities even more effective in the long term by contributing ideas and providing advice.
PROVISION OF MICRO-CREDIT LOANS in Nepal
Orange Angel provided microcredits to women in Nepal who had successfully completed our own sewing training in Kathmandu. With a small credit, a sewing machine could be purchased and fabrics bought. Many women were thus able to build a regular client base. The credits were monitored by our local organization in Kathmandu, All Angels Nepal.
